Because of that… having a blog titled Dekoboko17 is silly, right? A blog that cements the dramedy of my seventeenth year… It just hangs there now, doesn’t it?

For this reason, this blog won’t be updated again. =] I’m moving elsewhere, I suppose. If that blog is found, that’s fine, hopefully I won’t be cyberstalked by crazies or sad little people with nothing better to do than read my sparse updates here.

So… I’ll be elsewhere. Here’s to my 18th year. It starts in about an hour =]

Arrivederci

I’ve been out of sorts lately.  Dunno why =o  Must be all the work…  40 hours, 3 weeks in a row!  Practically fulltime wtf xD  And in about a week, I turn 18 xD  Well, no… Exactly a week.  July 18 haha!!

So…

In other news, I, in a fit of rage at my head… got all my hair cut.  YEAH.  So…  I cut all my hair off.  It’s a pixy cut.  Very short.  I’m crazy.

So I’m gonna go try to spike it ^^”  <3

May have been.  I don’t know.  There’s something incredibly powerful about standing on the roof of a building.  I think I’m going to make July my unofficial NaNoWriMo.  See if I can just write something crazy by August 3rd.  What do you think?

Tomorrow… well… in about 20 minutes… It’s my one year anniversary with Chris.  It’s crazy to think that, right?  I’m kinda amazed.  Who would’ve thought…?  But I did…  Haha.  Wow.  Maybe we’ll survive all this…  I don’t know.  I believe in the future, and mine’ll eventually go where it needs to be.

Anyway, I just felt like… blogging.  It’s summer.  I should update my blog more lol

For instance, I wouldn’t have to search all through my closet to find a pair of jeans for work that my sister has a bad habit of stealing when she thinks I’m not looking.  When she takes them to her best friend Isabella’s, then it’s even WORSE, because I no longer have my jeans for work, and then they come back with all these scribbles and drawings over them.  This is highly unprofessional to wear to work.

However, I wouldn’t have to deal with this if I were a nudist.

If I were a nudist, my mom wouldn’t look at me funny when I’m in my room on the computer.  She would just say, “oh, have fun, sweetie.”  Not “that’s so weird Kristen.  Put on some clothes please.”  What?  Maybe I enjoy being nude!  Why should that be weird?  It’s only weird if I’m telling people I’m in the nude.  However, I don’t really do that.

However, if I were a nudist, all this would be inconsequential.  I would always be in the nude. No one would have to be told, they would just know.

I am told that nudists are very comfortable with their bodies.  I would like that kind of security in my own skin.  I am mostly okay with my body.  After all, I have nice, strong legs, conditioned by 10+ years of ballet classes.  And, of course, I have a rather nice butt, as my boyfriend tells me.  But I am rather flat-chested and this makes me very sad, and it isn’t helpful that Victoria’s Secret doesn’t make nice bras in my size.  Maybe if I had been a nudist all along, I would be okay with this flat-chested-ness.  And, of course, I would not need to go to Victoria’s Secret for bras.

Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that my life would be much easier as a nudist.  Unfortunately, there are very few nudist colonies in New Jersey, and I do not have the resources to start one.  I suppose I will just have to continue wearing clothes.

Yesterday, I left the school for the very last time. It was surreal… Leaving through the main entrance, I was hit with it: I’m never coming back here after today. I’m never going to be a student here, never going to need my senior ID to get inside, never going to bother going through the metal detectors, never again.

After all this time, it was surreal. Four years ago, I couldn’t imagine this day coming. I wanted it, I yearned for it; it was the day I counted down for 3 years. But now that it’s here, all I can think is “This is too soon.”

After all… What have these years given me? Am I stronger person? Should I be?

After four years of high school–four years of drama, of joy, of sorrow, of theatrics–I’m almost surprised at the person I am now. She’s not the same girl who walked through the main entrance of the school September 6, 2005. That girl was scared of growing up, scared of the people around her, unsure of her own skin. She was quiet; she hid from people. She was quirky, but she was afraid to show too much of her personality. She didn’t want to make friends. She had no real dreams, no real hopes or aspirations. She was living day by day.

The girl who left through those doors yesterday was not the same. She lives in the moment, as if every day might be her very last. Still quiet, still quirky, but out of her shell enough to have surrounded herself with amazing friends, the best of friends. She refuses to live in the past, to have regrets. She knows who she is now, and she knows what she wants in life, and she has a plan to get it.

Everyone I have encountered has made me who I am… for better or worse. I don’t mind the worse encounters; they’ve made me stronger than who I was before. After this year, especially; I don’t begrudge anyone. They’re entitled to their opinion, and while I’m sorry they have it, it won’t matter soon enough… Though I thank them for forcing me to my breaking points, so I know how far I can hold out, and how strong I really am; and, it’s safe to say that I’m much stronger than I ever thought I was.

As for the better encounters… Those people have enriched my life, brought out those qualities in me that make me someone likeable, someone personable. Even when my weirdness is magnified, it’s nice to know I have people there who are willing to withstand it. And I love them to death for it.

By noon today, I won’t be a high school student anymore. This is it. I’m setting off to a new sky.

I went to prom!  It was exciting…!

Okay, actually, at first, it was incredibly stressful.  I’ve never done the whole “prom” deal before, so, getting ready for this one was a wild ride.  On Wednesday, Jess & I went to get our nails done…  For some reason I chose pink nails?  Yeah…  And then on Thursday, we signed ourselves out of school & got a ride to the MALL.

At the mall, we visited the MAC counter in Macy’s… At first, Jess volunteered to just do my make-up for me, but… I didn’t even know what kind of make-up to pick o_o”  So, I went to the make-up counter girl and said, “Hi.  Today’s my prom… Except, I’m really bad at make-up, can you help me?”

So, the girl who worked there was like “Actually, yeah, let’s do your make-up.”  And I got my make-up done… Virtually for free…  I did buy some foundation, bronzer and a sparkly lip gloss though.  =)  AFter that, I had to walk around the mall aimlessly while we waited for our ride, wearing all this make-up.  I was told by one of my companions that “I looked very serious business.”  Haha ♥

Then, once we got back to my house, Jess & I went to get our hair done… AT KRIMPER’S!  Where else can you get an awesome hair-do for under $30??  And it WAS pretty awesome.  It was a very improvised updo, based on a chignon.  I loved it.

Sooo… Afterwards, I went home.  And got ready.

I hafta admit, I looked really, really pretty for prom…  Like, I felt totally not like me.  As you can see from the pic… When I went to MAC, I was like “I DON’T WANNA LOOK SCARYYYY!!” so we went “semi-natural.”  The make-up wasn’t plastered on… There’s no blush whatsoever!  There’s sparkles but that’s because I was like “…sparkles??”  I went to look “classic.”  I wanted to look more… old-time movie star.  My dress helped for that.  Then I paired it with PEARLS!  With the pink nails, the pearls, the black-and-white dress, and the classical-but-kinda-randomized-modern updo…  Man, I was SET from the get-go!

The only thing I really had to do was wait for my ride… Chris & Saagar ♥  When Chris got here, we did the whole corsage/boutonniere thing… Except… My wrist is so tiny, it almost didn’t fit!  And when I tried to put the boutonniere on Chris’ lapel… or whatever… I like… stabbed him.  So my dad had to do it for me |D  That was pretty fail, I’ve gotta say.   Then we went to Carmen Sansweet’s house for the whole picture deal… Met up with Carmen, Jacquie, Andrew, Judy, and Alex.  Took pics.  Went IN A LIMO!  My first ever limo ride haha… It was pretty awesome.  There were flashing lights and water and it was fun.

Anyway… Then we got to prom, and it was FUN~  I had SUCH a blast, it was crazyyy…  I danced a lot x3  My legs were totally beat afterwards haha.  After prom, instead of partying hard, we all went back to Carmen’s house, watched Superbad…  Both me and Jacquie passed out on the couch! XD  I got home around 3:35 AM O__O  Majorly surprisingly for me.  But I had permission =D

Sooo… The next day, Friday, was Senior Skip Day… Which I skipped… Because I was tired.  I woke up around 10 AM and just… wandered around my house.  I did CHORES.  OMG, so exciting, right?  But my dress rehearsal was at 4-ish, for dance…  Yeah.  So I couldn’t do too much.  And I went to my dress rehearsal around 4 and danced and zoned out and whatnot.  It was chill.

Saturday, had work, of course.  Afterwards, I ended up going bowling with Chris, Cindy, Saagar and Alex .  We got kicked out of the bowling alley lol… We’re badasses.

Sunday, called out of work for my dance recital…  Owned that shit.  After my number was done, I became BackStage Crew.  I helped little kids & then took over as stage manager when Cody, the kid who was our stage manager, had to go onstage and be part of a number.  I make an awesome stage manager, actually.  It reminds me of why I’m going to college…  Theater Production now.  I’d love to do East Asian Studies…  But it doesn’t… seem like it’ll happen =/  I’ll still go to Japan… Just… do Theater Production.  It might be worth it… After all, I love the stage, and I love being behind-the-scenes, making sure everything goes smoothly ^_^  But when I got back home, I pretty much passed out.

Anyway, tomorrow’s a half-day of school, so I think I’m gonna get my hair cut again??  I really need to…  It’s getting too long for my liking (haha). ♥

WEDNESDAY
1. get eyebrows done
2. get nails done ^o^
3. choose which shoes I’m wearing
4. choose just which hairdo I want
5. decide if I’m gonna actually pop for getting my make-up done…
6. gather up all that prom stuff I need.
7. make sure my camera has batteries…
8. get sleep EARLY!!

THURSDAY
1. get out of school at 11 AM
2. get my hair done <3 at about 12
3. get make-up done
4. money for limo, pictures, other
5. figure/solidify after-prom plans
6. eat something
7. get changed @ about 5 PM, I guess?
8. get to Carmen’s at 6

Chris got the corsage/boutonniere… I might hafta pick him up a tie at Macy’s though. He’s so cute <3

Everything’s gonna go PERFECT!

I’ve made every appointment possible, and have plans to spend as little as possible =)  I’m so stoked!!  I’m going with Jess & my baby sis tomorrow to do nails/eyebrows, and Thursday it’s hair and make-up… Then… PROM!!!  Aah, I’m so excited ^___^

And it’s all over PROM.  Just that 4 letter word is sending chills up and down my spine.  PROM.  It’s in exactly ONE WEEK.  I need a hair appointment… For me and Jess.  I need to buy my accessories… This week.  Chris is going to get his tux today, and I need to decide what color accessories/flower I want.

So, let’s go from the top of this prom mayhem.

I got my dress earlier this month–it’s black and white…  Melissa said the bottom was considered “mermaid,” but frankly, I call it “ruffles.”  It looks absolutely amazing on me, I’m really happy I bought it =)  It was between this one and a short cute one that I tried on with Cindy.  I’d show a pic, but… I want it to be a surprise ^o^

My accessories haven’t been bought yet… As for a shawl, my mom has one that she’s giving me for the night.  As for shoes, I have two pairs that go nicely with my dress, and I’m considering buying a third one.  I don’t know if I’m gonna bother with a bag of any kind–probably, because I’m the one of my group that always has everything needed.    So I need to consider that…  For, like, earrings and anything else, I’m seriously considering going to get a really bright color to offset all the black & white, and also so Chris, bless his heart, can stop complaining that I’m too monochrome (ironic, isn’t it?).  So… I might go for red or pink accessories.  I’m kinda leaning towards red at the moment.

As for hair… jesus christ, my hair is the biggest problem.  I’m currently IN the process of coloring it–blonde.  Although black is a lot “sexier,” I guess, there is a large contingency of my friends who have deemed it my only duty left to them to dye my hair blonde before the end of school.  Well, here’s the end of school.  I left early today, came home, threw some clothes in the washer, and colored my hair.

I have work at 3 today; I’m gonna stop on the way to make an appointment at a hair place on Ventnor Ave for both me & Jess, since we’re doing all this stuff together.  On Wednesday, we’re gonna get our nails done (my mom is also coming, presumably to spend quality time with me).

SOOO… That’s that.  Perhaps I’ll update later with my new hair color.  Bwahaha

So, basically, the reason I hate shoobies is how bitchy they get.  I understand it’s your vacation.  But I’m trying very hard to supervise, take care of my shit, AND serve you =/  SO NO YELLING AT ME KTHX.

I’m off til Thursday… I have an eye appointment Wednesday, so I’ll get new glasses AT LAST!

Today I went shopping with Edwin & Jess… gots some new manga, and “Pride & Prejudice & Zombies”…  And also, we hit the Asian Supermarket so I got pocky, rice candy, tea and a peach ramune. ♥

Win.  Tomorrow there’s school & I’m starting to feel sick =[  Fail life is fail…
